I got up with the alarm on Monday. I did my usual rituals (including drinking a cup of yesterday's coffee while watching the news) and then went to work.
The big story today is the weather. They've revised their prediction and are now calling for sunny and 55 degrees F.!!!
When I'd talked to B___ on Sunday, he mentioned that the tips of his daffodils were starting to poke through the soil. Since I live south of him (and things happen here first), when I came home at lunchtime, I checked it out. The hyacinths on the south-side of the garage are just now poking up, too (too small to take a picture of). But the daffodils in the front garden (under my bedroom window) were up at least six inches and already starting to bud! I took a couple of photos and posted them for you.
When I got home after work, it really was quite nice, weather-wise. In fact, I sat in the porch rocker for a while (after dusting it off) and enjoyed the late afternoon, reading my book (but wearing a coat).
Back inside, I emptied the dishwasher, wrote out a check for a bill I can't pay online and washed down my counters and cutting board. I told you up front this was an uneventful day...
I ate some of the leftover BBQ meatloaf and the rest of the parsnips, along with more coleslaw for dinner.
Nothing much was on TV (that jumped out at me) so I watched "Kill Bill II." Did I mention I'm in love with Ulma Thurman?
After that finished, I read my book until 10:00 PM when Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservation" came on. I watched that until 11:00 and then turned the TV off. I read my book in bed until I got sleepy and finally went to bed around 1:00 AM.
