Finally Friday

It’s been a long week, but it’s finally Friday. Lu left sometime in the afternoon to spend the night at her friend Kathy’s house. So, when I was told there was a get-together at Snookers to say goodbye to Wayne and Jake IT staff-style, I said, “I’m in!”

So, there were about 10 of us, including Carla and her girlfriend from work. A rotating group of four people played pool while the others sat and talked.

I had a couple Labatt’s and some finger food off a samplers tray (cheese sticks, chicken strips, drumettes (sp) and some mini-tacos that I feared). I went with the chicken strips, dipped in Ranch dressing and the cheese sticks dipped in marinara sauce. I did try one drumette, which was good, but messy and then you’re stuck with a bone and no plate to put it on.

Of the two games of pool I played, I did some good shots and some really bad shots (I used to be pretty good at pool, back in the day). But I did sink the winning shot in both games, so I was pleased.

I left there around 7:00 PM and got home about 7:20 (because of the closure of Inkster at the railroad tracks). I treated the cats and changed clothes. I started to clean the downstairs bathroom and then thought, “What the hell are you doing?”

So, I quit for the night, enjoying the solitude, a good movie and, later, the rest of my fried rice.
