Sunday morning...

I took down all the Christmas decorations today. As I suspected, it make the house look a bit bare.

Had what I thought was a great idea! Measured the opening to the attic and determined how much of the Christmas tree I could stuff up there before the branches hit. Figured with a bit of branch bending I could just put it up there about half decorated for next year.

Took all the ornaments off the lower branches and put a garbage bag over the top ones to protect the glass bulbs. First hauled the two tubs of stuff upstairs. Not easy when you're a cripple. I suppose I should have asked Jake, but I get tired and p*ssed off having to always ask for help.

Then, the moment of truth! It worked perfectly... almost...

The strand of wood beads caught on the attic door hinge and the string broke...

I am currently picking up red wood beads from all over the house (they bounce quite impressively when dropped from that height.)

(sigh)

  1. Sounds tough. What, no photo?

The mushroom scallion omelet looks great, by the way. I especially like the subtle Spacely Sprockets placement ad. If I pay you the big bucks, could you cook on a Beowulf skillet?

    Well, off to Grandma's party

  2. LMAO! Didn't notice it before, but now that you mentioned it, I will ask Mr. Spacely next time I see him about paying for the Spacely Sprockets advertisement!
