Weird Winter Weather

Another day of above-freezing temps and rain. This was disconcerting at first (should be frigid and snow), until I realized what was happening.

Here in Michigan we typically have a weather phenomenon known as the "January Thaw." It usually occurs late in January, or even the first part of February, as in a week or so of above-freezing temps, then it goes back to being Winter.

I believe this is just an early January thaw, since Winter itself started so early here this year. Who knows? Hmmm... it's only 75 days until the "Official" start of Spring on March 20th. Maybe this means Spring itself will also arrive early. That would be GREAT!!!

  1. On the bright side, at least our heating bills will be a bit lower this month. Last month was outrageous.

Jill keeps walking around muttering about "and they say that there is no global warming." Between an early thaw and a man-made climate shift, I will take your theory, thank you!

    Good luck with your painting.
