Yesterday was a l-o-n-g day! I have the insurance company coming over today (Monday) to take some pictures for my homeowners insurance, so cleaned the house from top to bottom. It was nice enough (both Saturday and Sunday) that I could turn off the furnace and air out the house.
During the warmest part of the day, I took the four bags of mulch I'd bought on Friday and spread them in the patio gardens (need about four more to finish). Looked so nice, I started hauling out all the patio "stuff". Took off the plastic and wood cover from the reflecting pool, filled that, brought out the monk and lantern and then carried out the chiminea (that was stupid, BTW. I should have waited and asked Jake to do it.)
Sowed grass seed under the pines and watered it, cut down one of the many troublesome pine trees, pulled the picnic table and benches out, put them in place and washed them off. Put the chairs and table on the patio, washed them off...
Went back inside, washed the floors, took a nice nap, talked to Melissa for a while, etc., etc., etc.
Upshot is that the back yard is starting to shape up. Downside is I had to take a pain pill this morning just so I could move...
