...and found a nice surprise! A new-mowed lawn! Looked great (it was getting a bit shaggy). So, while I was thinking about it, went and reseeded the couple of small, bare spots in the front. Dragged out the hose to water the new seed, then dragged it back (didn't have to water all the other seeded spots as it rained this morning).
Then went in the back and moved more leaves. Posted some pictures so you will understand my daunting task. Also, took a lesson from my old in-house therapist and, "pre-medicated" by taking a couple pain pills at 5:00 PM, knowing they'd kick in by the time I got home and was ready to work. Bingo! No backache, so I got in about a 1/2 hour's worth of leaf moving.
Next, I tried the new Sawzall blade I bought yesterday. It was a 9-inch "Piranha" made for pruning by Black and Decker. While the little tab and the little hole matched a Sawzall blade perfectly, the original Sawzall blade had a bend to it that this Black and Decker doesn't. So, I wondered if it would work...
Damn! Sure enough, it fit in easily, but popped out under usage. Not ready to give up on it, I studied it and realized that because it did not bend like the Sawzall, the first tooth of the blade hit the collar and prevented it from locking in. So, got out my Dremmel tool, ground off the first tooth, and "BINGO," works perfectly!
Used the last of the turkey left-overs and a jar of turkey gravy to make a open-faced, hot turkey sandwich for dinner (along with the last left-over twice-baked potato and some canned peas I heated up).
Watched some TV, fell asleep, but thanks to the magic of insomnia, I am up and writing this, now!
