Saturday Dinner

So, I'm still spray painting furniture, right? Then, Jake and Carla came over around 4:00, towing a U-Haul trailer (?!?!) In the trailer were two Honda Metropolitan scooters, a white and orange one for Carla and a white and blue one for Jake (urban transportation at it's finest!) They stored them in the garage while they took the trailer back.

Upon their return, they practiced driving up and down San Jose. Then, Jake fired up the grill (BTW, I noticed he didn't burn anything in the process). While he was cooking hamburgers, hot dogs and the chicken drumsticks I had thawed, (planning on deep frying them on Sunday), I made a quick pasta salad: tri-colored rotini pasta, cherry tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, sliced black olives, diced valadia onions, diced green pepper and celery, all covered with Italian dressing.

I also asked him to grill the three bunches of scallions I bought but had not used (trimmed, then coated in olive oil, salt and fresh ground pepper - cooked about two minutes on each side, just enough to see the grill marks - yummy).

We feasted like kings! They left, and I called it a night (tired, sore and limping a little).
