Paul Bunyan

Yesterday was a beautiful afternoon, so I decided to cut down the last two trees I can do myself. I say that, but it was taking FOREVER to get through the first one! As you can see in the photos, these were not small trees.

Fortunately, Jake and Carla stopped by after work, and Jake took over, then I did some more and he did some more... and, finally they came down. We took a break and visited for a bit and then they left. I went back out to start trimming the branches.

Fortunately (again! I was very fortunate yesterday, lol!) my tree guy was visiting next door and he came over and said not to worry about it, he would have his guys cut up the trees. We talked about my new plan (grinding up all the brush pile and the branches from his tree-felling and blowing them into the rear garden area). He was reluctant to drive his big truck across Jake's patio and my lawn, but my neighbor said he'd "peel back the fence" at the rear of the property so he can drive back through my neighbor's yard (that has a driveway to the rear) then just a little on my lawn. We agreed on the new price and he'll start Thursday or Friday.

One good thing is that my neighbor has to take down his cottonwood that the one pine by St. Francis is growing in, so that tree will be saved.

I made pork chops, a can of sweet corn and seasoned french fries for dinner and then quit for the night.
