Sunday morning, catching up...

It's been a while since I had the time to sit down at the computer. Where to begin? Oh, yes, Friday night!

After work, I took 6 wheel barrows full of dirt and wood chips from the front yard to the back and filled in the worst ruts. Heated up two left over pork chops and made three baked potatoes for dinner (only ate one potato, BTW). Back was hurting bad, so I went to bed then.

Saturday, was making breakfast when Jake and Carla came in. They were going to take the scooters down Hines Park to Plymouth and eat at a waffle house. I made myself bacon , eggs over easy and sliced up the two remaining baked potatoes and fried them. Figured I needed a good breakfast for the work day ahead.

Made an executive decision NOT to dig up sod in the back to cover the spot in the front. I've had excellent results so far with sowing grass seed. (I'll get some pictures, promise!) So, I tamped down the earth and wood chips as best I could, leaving a bit of a mound, for settling, raked in grass seed and watered the heck out of it.

Did all the laundry while cleaning the house up a bit. Then went grocery shopping. Had to get a LOT of staples I'd let run low. Got home around 11:30 AM, and as I was pulling in, so were Jake and Carla. They help unload the car and put away the groceries while telling me of their adventures. Then they announced they were going to help with the wood chips.

So, we had a little assembly line going. Jake filled up the wheel barrow, Carla wheeled it over and dumped it and I raked the piles out smooth. I told them I'd be happy if we could just get the wood chips off the grass. They pooh-poohed that idea, saying they were going to spread them all!

We worked steadily for a couple of hours, then I went in and called a restaurant down the road for some lunch to be delivered. I ordered a slab of ribs, sides of rice and coleslaw and an extra large Supreme pizza. We broke for lunch.

Then they went back to work, but my back was killing me. So, I went to fix the fence (got to use the Sawzall with a metal blade - worked like a dream!) It was getting pretty late when they announced it was done! (Thanks, guys! That would have taken me a couple of weeks, really! I hope you are not too sore today!)

After they left, I went out to take some picture so you could see what they did, but the sun was down too much and the wall shadowed everything. Will take some this morning.

And, a new work day begins...
