Thursday

Thursday night, I had three objectives: Get the TV to work (lost the signal sometime Wednesday night, but the cable company said it was at my end, not theirs), touch up the garage door paint job, and water the rear garden.

Worked on the TV when I got home. Tried several suggestions, both from Jake and from B___. Nothing worked! Finally decided to get down the old TV from the attic (not easy, BTW) and plug it in, just to verify cable box was working. Once it was in place, I couldn't remember how to hook up the modulator, so I called Jake. He said to STOP and wait for them to come over. So, I did.

Went out to use a brush on the area I'd seen yesterday morning missing the new paint on the garage door (remember, I rolled it in near darkness, and noticed the missing paint in the early morning light). Upon closer examination in the daylight, there were several places that were either lightly painted, or missing paint altogether. So, gave up on the easy touch up idea, got out another roller and rolled the whole damn thing again. Just then Jake and Carla pulled in.

Well, it wasn't easy for Jake either, but he finally found the problem. Somehow or another, one of the settings on the DVD player (which is hooked up to the DVDR cable box and then feeds the TV) got switched. I thanked them profusely and they left for home. Sorry I made them drive all the way over, but I was glad they got it fixed! Thanks again, guys!

Went out and watered the back garden then. Got done around 9:00 PM, came in and heated up the last of the leftover tacos and refried beans. I was thinking to myself that I hadn't made a new dinner all week!

Watched my TV (of course!) and then went to bed...
