Another blistering day with the temperature reaching 99 degrees F. (Fifth day in a row over 90 degrees F.)!
I got a trailer hitch put on my car today so that, when I fix up the sailboat, I can use it. I am telling myself that's the reason I haven't done anything with the sailboat in over 10 years... Hmmm... We'll see...
I asked Luanne to make some bow-tie pasta and put it in the fridge for tonight's dinner (I wanted everything COLD today). So, when I got home, I put together a shrimp pasta salad. Quite frankly, I was very disappointed. The ingredients were fine (the pasta, nice big shrimp with the tails removed, chopped celery, diced red onion, sliced black olives and thin wedges of plum tomatoes) but I didn't like the dressing. It was grapefruit juice, olive oil, salt and pepper and thyme (all sounds good so far) and then two tablespoons of honey. Luanne liked it, but I thought it was too sweet.
Gave in and went out to water the front gardens (just watered on Sunday, but they are already drooping badly) after dinner. I hate to think of what my water bill (or electricity bill from the A/C) is going to be!
Called my Mom to see how she was handling the heat. She said Monday was a bit rough (mostly sat in front of the fan) but yesterday Carl and Hanna came out and installed a window air conditioner. So, she's okay now.
