Sunday night, the nose blowing had abated, but I then was blessed with fever and chills. The spike in my temperature would wake me up, then when my fever would break, I was drenched with sweat. I didn't get much sleep (its hard to feel rested when you are constantly waking up, then trying to fall asleep in a damp bed). So, I decided to stay home from work.
By mid afternoon, the fever business seemed gone. It's a sunny day, so I did venture outside to accomplish one small mission: I took down the hammock, while it was dry. That is not to say I took it up into the attic where it spends the Winter months, but I did get it into the backroom. Baby steps, baby steps...
I have officially eaten enough chicken soup to float a battleship, and I'm sick of it! So, when dinner time rolled around started looking for something with a less bland taste to it. Found a box of Old Elpaso baked enchiladas mix. Put it together with some hamburger and extra sharp cheddar cheese. I wanted some refried beans as the side, but only had a can of black beans. So, I cooked those for about an hour in water, drained, added some onions sauteed in bacon grease and chopped jalepeno peppers (I'll burn out those damn cold germs!) and then mashed, adding water as needed until I got the right texture. Looked and tasted surprisingly good. I took a picture, but forgot to post it.
Shut off the TV and all the lights at 8:00 PM and went to sleep.
