Two things I forgot to mention...

1. Regarding last Sunday's turkey breast: As I normally do, I made an offering to the wild things with the carcass. I set it outside so the birds could peck at it, the neighborhood cats could gnaw on it or whatever. But, about 10:30 PM that night, the motion detector switched the spotlights on, and I saw my old, weird friend the opossum waddle over and drag the carcass away....

2. I completely forgot to mention I told TruGreen Chemlawn they could aerate my lawn. They bring in some kind of machine and it punches like, 1/2 inch holes, three inches deep everywhere. You're "supposed" to do this every three or four years to keep your lawn healthy. Well, I never did it since I lived here, and since most of the lawn "improvements" seem to have happened on my watch, I assume it's never been done. I will see if there is a marked improvement in my lawn next year. Right now, though, it's covered with leaves and little dirt plugs (that look like dead slugs or something).
