Fun Friday

Slept in on Friday morning (off on vacation, remember?). Made coffee, shaved, showered and prepared to face the day.

Took my finely crafted shopping list and headed out. First stop was Michael's (arts and crafts store) for some acrylic paints for a couple of my projects (not being cute here, they are Christmas present, so I can't say what they are yet). While I was there, a lady was making a beautiful white ponsettia. I asked her how much and she said they were half off now, only $9.00 US! So, I grabbed that up as well (will post pictures of my Christmas decorations as soon as I find the time).

Then went to PetSmart for goldfish and Newt food and some other aquarium supplies.

Now on to Linen's and Things, for a tall glass pitcher. I miss the smell of a real Christmas tree, sprays and candles seem phony, so I thought I would cut a few boughs (one thing I got here is a lot of evergreens, lol!) and put them in water in the living room (again, picture when time permits).

Then on to PayLess Shoes. I think my walking shoes have broken down (they do, you know) and that's where this pain in my leg is coming from. So, got a new pair and another pair of slippers.

Final stop: Home Depot! Dropped over $100.00 US on the electrical supplies I need. Did find a very knowledgeable store employee who suffered through all my questions. Went home an unpacked all my loot.

Well, it was around 2:00 PM, so I thought I'd tackle the one part of all this that demanded daylight: Replacing the single stove breaker with two 20 amp circuit breakers. Opened the garage door for more light and turned off the power to the house. Took me a nervous, long time, but I got it done! BTW, I was very glad that, back in the day, I had invested in good electrical testers, rubber handled pliers, etc. 220 volts is more than a little scary!

That being done, I went in and reset all the electric clocks, VCR, etc., rebooted the computer, and so on.

Working on one of the projects. It calls for careful, tedious use of hot glue (I am not exaggerating, it took almost 2 1/2 hours) . The missing three layers of skin on my left index finger will attest to the fact I stuck with it, though.

Too whipped to cook, so dinner was ham sandwiches, with pepperocini and potato chips. Watched the Lord of the Rings - Return of the King again (from 8:00 PM to after midnight) and then went to bed.
