Up and at 'em early on Saturday. I have a 9:00 AM appointment for my hair cut, then plan on running all my weekend errands. Left the house in the rain, which didn't surprise me, but seeing a County truck salting Inkster did. I thought they must be a little premature, but when I got out of the barbers, the rain drops on my car were frozen! Saw another dump truck salting Middle Belt Road, so they do seem to be on top of things.
Went to Westborn Market from there. I just needed some Romano cheese and herbs, but I also picked up an eggplant, some lemons and limes and a nice butternut squash.
Moving right along, went to Meijers for some bird seed and deodorant, Home Depot for some screws and finally Farmer Jack's for my main grocery shopping. Go home around 11:00 and unpacked my loot, refilled the bird feeder (which was covered with ice and had one icicle on it) and started the laundry.
I chatted with Jake on the phone, who talked me out of this weekend's project (I was going to take off the back door, sand it down, repaint it and then put it back up). As he pointed out, with this weekend's weather, not having a back door for two days, even with the storm door, doesn't sound like a good idea.
So, I did some housework and ate lunch (thawed out bean soup). I read a bit, got bored with that, and checked out the TV. Finally settled on the original Godfather movie.
For dinner, I fried up the eggplant. Then back to the TV until bedtime. I suppose a lazy day is good now and then, but I can't help thinking I just wasted half my weekend.
