Still bitter cold here and the wind isn't making things any easier! Got home and changed into my pipe carving clothes (I'm using the same workout clothes and my #1 Dad cookout apron to keep the sawdust down). Worked for about an hour, but ran into a problem.
I want to rough up the top of the pipe and there are three ways to do that: a drum for polishing stones, but you put screws and staple and nails in it; sandblasting or a wire brush wheel on a drill motor. The first two I don't have, and the wire brush idea probably works well on hardwood, but not so good on the soft pine. It more or less just erased the wood, not roughed it up! I gotta think about this one...
Dinner was leftover bean soup I'd thawed the night before. Watched some TV and went to bed.
