It was a beautiful morning and early afternoon (80 degrees F.). But, then it all went downhill. We had wicked thunderstorms moved through our area after 3:00 PM. The rain had stopped briefly; so on my way home I stopped at Home Depot for another 1" x 12" board, 10 feet long (for the trailer sides). Most of it fit in the car and the rest I just let hang out the trunk on the two mile trip home.
Changed clothes and got to work. Fortunately the rain was coming from the West, so I could open the garage door and let a little cooler air in. Tighten all the remaining bolts, then did my trick with the bar clamps and magic marker again for the front piece of plywood. This time, though, one hole was off and I had to re-drill it. Crawled under the trailer and tightened all the carriage bolts.
Next I took off the brace on the front where I want to mount the spare tire I bought. I used the Dremmel tool to grind out two notches so when I attach the big u-bolt that holds the spare tire on, it won't slide around. Then I sanded it down and painted it (several coats) so it won't rust. Looked at the clock and it was almost 9:00 PM!
So, I cleaned up, warmed up the brats from yesterday and heated some Or Ida French-fries Jake and Carla left in my freezer in the oven. Went to put some catsup on the fries and found I was almost out. No problem, I always have spare everything in the pantry. Checked - NONE! I was shocked. My inventory system has always worked. How did this slip by me? Now, I don't use a lot of catsup, its true. Usually only to make seafood sauce. I prefer the bite of mustard to the sweetness of catsup. But, I am baffled about not having a spare... Oh well, it probably dematerialized like the dozen eggs.
Ate dinner reading a book and didn't even try to watch TV. I was beat, so I just went to bed.
I'm seriously considering leaving a dozen catsup covered chickens in your back yard.

ReplyDeleteNah.... That wouldn't help. Jake'd just wait until he went to sleep and snatch 'em.
Regarding the first Comment: I almost hurt myself laughing when I read that. That was the most clever thing I ever read! What an image!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, the funniest part is that I would have fell for it and thought, "Damn, everything materialized again!"
