Thursday

Another hot one! Not sure if we broke the record (we were supposed to) but high was predicted to be 87 degrees F.

Finally 5:00 PM and I start my four-day, all-work weekend! First thing on the list (and if you know me, you know there's a list, lol) is a serious grocery shopping. I have just been picking up odds and ends for almost a month now while I worked on the trailer. So, its stop at Farmer Jacks and an hour later (and a $150 US poorer) I am completely restocked and ready to rock!

I put away a trunk full of groceries. Then I changed clothes and disassembled the table, then reassembled it in the living room (Hey, I need someplace to sit, right?). Next I carefully pushed the refrigerator into the living room as well and plugged it in. Now my house is starting to resemble Lu and Sadie's, so I took some pictures and posted them.

Then I started first project: taping and mudding the new drywall in the ceiling. I am actually using spackling compound instead of mud as I had to buy a big tub of it for other things this weekend. However, I've used it on drywall before and, as long as you don't have to sand it, it works okay. So, I put up the tape (I use the mesh kind instead of the old paper, BTW) and then added the spackling compound. Smoothed it out with a six-inch blade. Cleaned up the work area and realized it was after 8:00 PM.

So, I raced outside and watered the places where I'd put the grass seed. Then I carried two buckets of water to the back for the roses and the tomatoes. Came in the house at 9:10. Warmed up two more brats in the microwave, ate them with mustard and onions: and then went to bed.
