Well, its finally happening! I stopped at Farmer Jacks to get some eggs and they have a huge sign on the front saying "Entire Store for Sale 10 - 30% off!" Went inside and here and there, everywhere, are empty shelves. So, I suppose if I had any room left in my freezer, now would be a good time to stock up on frozen fish, shrimp, etc., but I don't. I just felt bummed and left.
Got home, got changed and got started again! Jake had pointed out a gap in both the upper and lower cabinets where the "L" meets and suggested quarter round molding. Instead, I just used caulk to fill the seams.
When I mentioned how "bare" the space over the window is now (although it lets in a LOT more light, so I like it) he had suggested some kind of fancy scroll work. So, Sunday I had picked up what is really a shelf bracket, but I thought it looked neat. However, it's over an inch wide. So, I cut another 3/4 inch board and attached it to the back of the single 3/4 inch board I had in place (I got to use the brad nailer again!) Then I attached the two shelf brackets. Finally, I used spackling compound to fill in any spaces (and, also to fill the one hole I drilled in the wrong place).
That completed and drying, I went back to the door moldings. I measured and then cut the rest of the molding to length, but it was now 8:00 PM, so I will rip the ones down that need it tomorrow.
I heated up two chicken thighs and a baked potato (topped with sour cream and scallions) for dinner. Watched a taped show, and then went to bed.
