TGIF and all that stuff

I thought I'd change this around a bit, so I stopped at Home Depot on the WAY to work. After all, they open at 6:00 AM and that way I can go straight home after work.

Speaking of work, I asked and got permission to leave at 3:30 PM. Stopped at CVS and picked up a prescription then got home around 3:50 PM. It was another hot day today, (88 degrees F.) but with the added fun of a brief rain shower and high winds (predicted thunderstorms missed us). I changed clothes and went out to water the roses, tomatoes and rhododendron. I checked the rain gauge and we got less than inch of rain today. Filled the bird feeder while I was at it. Yard is littered with leaves and sticks the wind blew down.

Got back inside and taped up the butcher's block rolling cart. Long time readers may remember Luanne had salvaged it for me, I repaired it and then I painted it a deep green, which worked then but won't now. It's all about the yellow, now! So, I sprayed it and its drawer and the silverware drawer (again) with primer.

Not sure why, but I am not getting the nice coverage I did for the backs of the doors. In spite of my following the directions word for word, maybe I didn't get the gun clean enough. The wet surface looks "pebbly" if that's a word. But, maybe the backs were that way and they dried okay. I dunno. I tried messing around with the setting, but it only got worse. So, I sprayed the rest on the initial setting and am hoping for the best. I guess I'll know tomorrow morning.

So, I finished up at 8:20 PM. Put the gun parts in hot, soapy water to soak overnight and washed myself up as best I could without taking a shower. It may sound stupid, but I am too tired to take a shower right now. Made a box of tuna helper for dinner. It was gross. I really am going to have start thinking about meals again and thawing out stuff. Went to sleep.

  1. Which yellow paint did you use for the butcher's block - the cabinet yellow or the wall yellow?
