Tuesday

Stopped on the way home (where else?) at Home Depot to pick up a temporary lighting fixture and a one inch paintbrush.

Got home and changed clothes, after dropping a letter off to my neighbor (his address is 11665, mine is 11655 and the postman constantly puts our letters in the wrong mailbox). He asked if I was going to the rezoning meeting (the property next door, again). I said no, but I did write a letter, voicing my opposition. He said a bunch of people were going and he'd let me know how it turned out.

So, I dug out the primer and, using the one inch paint brush, carefully primed all the new, raw wood, including the shelf brackets, now turned into do-dads. I took down the original 1950 light fixture and wired in a temporary one, so there won't be a big mark when I finally install the new one (see photos). After that, I used the primer to cover the last application of spackling compound around the attic stairs (you remember them, right? They are still up there, awaiting removal, replacing the stripped bolt and thus, redemption.)

So, now it 7:30 PM and I am ripping down the door moldings that need it. Wind has not really abated, so I don't think I will get a chance to spray the stain on tonight. Got everything cut to size. Used the blower to get rid of the sawdust. I noticed my old enemy (grass growing in the driveway) is back.

Then I hauled the blower out back. Jacob had done the patio proper on Saturday. But, the concrete pads under the picnic table and sail boat were awful. So, I blew it all off (she'll cut it up next week, I'm thinking) and did the old Jake's patio while I was at it. I filled the bird feeder, the suet cage and the birdbath with fresh water. I went inside and it was 8:50 PM.

I used the microwave to heat up two ears of corn and the one rib eye steak for my dinner tonight. Fell asleep before finishing the show I turned on. Woke up at 2:00 AM and turned off the TV and the light and went back to bed.
