Final push - Day 2

I got up at 6:30 AM and had oatmeal for breakfast. Then I showered and shaved and put a put of clothes in the wash machine. Next, I got back to work in the living room. I don't know if I mentioned it, but I took today and Friday as vacation days. I am planning on finishing this remodeling and getting back to normal around here (well, as normal as it ever gets lol!)

Removing the molding is getting to me. A lot of bending over (to avoid kneeling) and the shoe molding the guy used is that plastic crap, so the nails are staying in and its just breaking apart. So, I have to go back over it and pull out the nails.

I took a break at 10:30 AM, and got dressed to go to lunch with B___, who did NOT take off this week. After lunch, I ran up to the library to exchange books. Then, back home and back to work. I got the doorway into the kitchen done, and then started on base boards and shoe molding. At B___'s suggestion, I am getting the three walls done, then moving the furniture back so I have more room to demo, then redo the last wall.

Just heard there is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for my area, with damaging winds and possible hail, so rearranged my saws and stuff so I could pull the car back into the garage. I'd locked and left it in the driveway to give me more room. Much more aggravating now, a lot less space to work in, but at least my car's safe. Sure enough, at 3:50 PM, it started raining. It might be more work for the molding effort, but at least I may not have to water the gardens tonight.

Well, no such luck. Rained a little bit, no thunder, no hail, and now at 4:30 PM, the sun's back out. I got the three sides of the living room finished by 7:00 PM. Deciding this was the last time I'd probably have all the furniture away from the walls, I got out the Mop & Glo I'd bought for the hallway and washed all three sides of the outer floor, from the furniture to the nice fresh molding. Leaving that to dry, I went out to water the gardens. I got then all done except the back one (I'll do that in the morning) and quit to go eat dinner.

Dinner was the last of the baby back ribs and potato salad. Either I was starving or the food was really good, but it all tasted fantastic. I grabbed one of the new books from the library and read until I fell asleep.
