I got up at 7:00 AM. Breakfast seemed desirable, but a lot of work, so I just heated up some of Friday night's pasta.
I stripped the bed and put the bedding in the wash machine. Today there is no big project, just the drudgery of getting all the tools, supplies, etc., taken out of the office and downstairs (and anywhere else I may have left them), and then put them back in the garage in some sense of order. Oh yes, and more wood burning. If there's time, the whole house needs a good cleaning, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, etc. We'll see...
By 10:45, the kitchen is empty of all tools and I have completely moved out of the downstairs bathroom. Beddings in the dryer and the last load of clothes is in the washer. Then, I installed the new showerhead in the upstairs bath (it's a twin to the one I put in the downstairs shower and REALLY liked!) I keep feeding the fire (hey, you gotta feed the fire, man!) and now I'm putting the mini-blind on the patio door (I like the light, but Jake and Carla will want the privacy).
So, now its 1:30 PM, all the wood is burned up, all the clothes are hung up, the bed re-made and I have had a light lunch of another bowl of pasta. So, I think I'm gonna try and take a nap!
I read a bit, then went to sleep and woke up at around 3:00 PM. Back to the office! I finally got everything out of the office. Then, I moved the trundle bed frame from the garage into and under the day bed. Why is that important? Because I can now fit the new back patio door there. I will install it after Jake and Carla move into there new home.
So, now its 5:30 PM and I've got the charcoal lit in the grille. First I watered all the container gardens (with Thursday's rain, I think it's safe to wait one more day to water the regular gardens). Then, I made up hamburger patties using my peanut butter jar lid and Saran Wrap, and, when the grille was ready, I made hamburgers and hot dogs. I ate two hamburgers and two ears of sweet corn (there's still a lot left!)
**Caution - potential animal cruelty ahead!**
So, I'm eating dinner on the bed, watching "Extreme makeover - Home Edition." After I was done eating, I was absent-mindedly petting Scruffy. Everything was okay, until he unexpectantly sunk his teeth in the back of my hand! My first involuntary reaction was to scream out, "Aaauuggh!" My second involuntary reaction was to backhand the son of a bitch! He flew off the bed, bounced off the closet door, then ran out of the room, to disappear for more than two hours...
Meanwhile, I staunched the bleeding (what the hell got into him anyway?) and he did eventually come back and I accepted his apology.
Next, I watched the final show of the Next Food Network Star, and then turned the TV off. I read a bit, but then fell asleep, and my weekend was officially over.
