Genealogy Question:
If the Bible can be taken literally and the Great Flood did indeed cover the entire earth (as opposed to, say, an all-time, high water mark on the Sea of Galilee) wouldn't our most recent, common ancestor be Noah and his family, rather than Adam and Eve?
Of course not. Noah took two humans as he did all other animals. He, as the captain, didn't count. If it had been otherwise, you would be descended from Noah and what? Scary thought eh?
ReplyDeleteActually, as I recall, Noah took his sons Shem, Japheth and Hamn and their families along, too. Somebody had to feed and water all the animals, and clean up the poop!
