Wednesday Night

I did another round of the walnut tree with my bucket when I got home. Its warmer (almost 70 degrees F.) and dry. Oh, I forgot to tell you I didn't call my County Extension office about my "diseased" tree. Tuesday, I took a random sampling and smashed open 5 walnuts with a hammer on the garage floor. NONE of them had worms, just normal nut meat. I kinda wish these were easier to extract, as I could make something out of them.

Since its warm out, I thought I'd get a little more of the Fall outside "winter-prep" work done. So, I brought in all the statues (after brushing off the dirt and bugs and leaves and put them in the downstairs room to dry out (See photos). I left the rain gauge, the bird bath and the chiminea out (I hope to still get some use out of all of these before real winter sets in). Then I removed and drained the two hoses way in the back, using a trick Leon showed me thirty years ago on his ranch, and coiled them up. Then I filled the bird and squirrel feeders, along with the suet cage and came inside for the night.

I started my mid-week load of laundry and got to work on dinner. I had thawed out the last remaining jar of the Italian sausage and tomato sauce, and began warming it up, while cooking some rotini. It was tri-color rotini by Barilla that I obviously bought for a summer pasta salad, but never used. I put it all together and had a quick, but tasty dinner.

I watched some taped TV shows and went to bed early.
