Fat, Super Tuesday!

I took the garbage out to the road this morning in a light fog (no, the weather, not me!). It's unusually warm this morning (like 43 degrees F) but the temps are supposed to fall throughout the day. We've got rain forecast for late tonight, then freezing rain for the morning's commute, and then 1-3 inches of snow by tomorrow night. Weird weather this winter!

My friend B___ was busy for lunch today, so I drove home and ate lunch here. I had another third of the Saturday's steak sandwich. I found if you heat them in the microwave for 25 seconds, it warms up the meat and makes the bread taste fresh (without "cooking" the arugula). I watched a little TV and the noon newscast. It's not only "Fat" Tuesday (the day before Lent) here in the US, its also Super Tuesday, where a bunch of states all hold their presidential primary. So, again, I am concerned that the "right" (read that as the ones I want) people win in both the Democratic and Republican party primaries.

When I got home at 5:20 PM, I changed clothes, checked my blood sugar (recording it in my log) and went back to revise my taxes. Two more little slips of paper came in the past two weeks (the interest I received from the Credit Union and the refund from my State income taxes last year). But, when I entered the new information, the amount I owed never changed (weird! So why sent me them if they don't matter?) So, I am still happy!!!

It was almost 6:30, so, first I called my Mom to find out how she liked the soup (this is MUCH better than relying on brothers who forget to ask, or then forget to call and report!) She said it was delicious and the seasoning was perfect, but (and, I liked that there was a "but" because it means she's really thinking about it not just trying to say stuff to please me) anyway, but, she thought there might be too much ham. On the other hand, she said Cora doesn't use a lot of meat, so it was a great main dish. Oh, she also said that Comcast did come and switch out her cable box, so she can watch her Mass on TV.

Instead of grabbing my book and hitting the couch, I turned the TV on and watched another Family Guy rerun. THEN, I grabbed my book and sat on the couch to read, lol!

After a while, I got hungry. I was tempted just to finish the last of the leftover steak sandwich, but thought I should change it up a bit. So, I used the onion buns and put mayo on the bottom and yellow mustard on the top, added lots of ham slices and topped that with American cheese slices. I warmed the sandwich in the microwave until the cheese began to melt and then let it rest a bit.

I had a brilliant thought at work, BTW. When I buy a big bag of chips, one of two things happens. Either I try to ration them and fail, and eat too much at one time (salt & fat: bad for both the waistline and the blood pressure!) or I am successful in my rationing and by the time half the bag is gone, the damn things are stale.

So, knowing I would be eating sandwiches for dinner, I bought a bag of chips from the vending machine at work. Now, cost-wise, I'm sure its not as cheap (65 cents for a one ounce bag) but it's enough for one meal, you can't overeat them and they damn sure aren't gonna go stale!

So I ate my ham and cheese sandwich with chips and a pickle and watched some TV. I got bored with that and watched some election returns, until that got boring, too. I got my book and read until I was sleepy. I probably went to bed around 10:30 or so.
