The first thing I did when I got home was to fill the bird feeder and replace the suet cake. I noticed that the huge "lake" from Sunday's rain had diminished considerably and had frozen solid. So, now I have the San Jose Ice Rink. I took a picture of it (I didn't have a chance to take a picture of my lake) and posted it. I also posted the photo of the computer wires I'd organized. Then I started the Wednesday night laundry.
Next, I called Luanne to relay my mother's thanks, but just got their voicemail. I checked the weather at both of my daughter's locations. Amy's was frigid and overcast, Melissa, cool and partly cloudy. So, I called Melissa to let her know about tonight's lunar eclipse.
I put the laundry in the dryer and checked on the plant stand. It was dry! So, I took the plant stand and, rearranging the furniture just a tad, put it in place. I trimmed up the plant and set it on top. Looks pretty good! Also took a picture of that and posted it. Hopefully, this will keep Joe's plant out of the cat's danger zone.
Luanne called back, so we talked for a short while. I mentioned the eclipse to her as well.
I wasn't really hungry, so I just had a bowl of chicken noodle soup for dinner. I set the stove alarm for 9:30 PM and went in to watch some TV. When the alarm went off, I went out on the porch and checked out the eclipse myself. It was really cool! It wasn't full yet, so there was still a slice of white, but the rest was a reddish/copper color. It was flanked by two bright lights (the Dog star and Saturn, I'd heard). It was too damn cold to stay out long, but it was pretty neat.
When I was back inside and warmed up a bit, I debated: more TV, book or sleep? Sleep won. Just before dozing off, I realized I hadn't taken the clothes out of the dryer. Oh, well...
