Stray Cats and Dogs

I keep a file called "Stray cats and Dogs" for snippets or thought starters, or whatever, that may (or may not) someday become poems. These have been in it so long, I figured I'd post them to get them out of the way!

"If you don't sleep, you don't have to dream"

and

"Dust motes dance in warm, spring sun,
a chorus of peepers, their song begun.
Fairy rings of toad stools sit and await
their honored guests by the garden gate."

(I really like the second one, and think it still may yet become a poem)
