Monday, and back outside...

Monday morning was sunny, but cool. The TV weather guy said there was even frost in outlying areas.

At lunch, B___ needed to go to Lowe's for a light bulb, so I checked out the seeds for Moss Roses and couldn't find any! This is bad, as I wanted them in the front garden!

After lunch, I had a call at work from my doctor who said I passed the stress test with flying colors! Everything seems to be normal (she said it was amazing for my age. Bah! I told her before the test, my heart is strong like bull!) and there were NO signs of any artery occlusion (I KNEW IT!).

I forgot to mention, on our Saturday jaunt, a warning light came on that I'd never seen. But Carla, who actually has an Owner's Guide, said it meant I had a light burned out (they are universal symbols, after all). When I got home that day, I tried various things and determined my right stop lamp (or brake light) didn't work.

So, on the way home tonight I stopped at Home Depot, where I found only three seed packets left of moss roses, and then at Murray's Auto Supply, where I bought two new stop lamps.

I got home about 5:45 PM and changed clothes (but into long pants, this time - it's chilly out there!)

First I replaced the brake light (not too difficult, BTW.) Then I got out the blower and blew off all the stupid maple helicopter seeds (especially out of the front garden).

I thought I still had some play-sand, but when I checked, the bag contained pea gravel! So, I used a handful of potting soil in a bucket, along with the three packets of moss rose seeds, to thin them out and make sure all the seeds got used.

Before planting, I moved some big rocks Jake gave me into the garden, just for something different (see photos). I used some rose fertilizer (which is pink) to mark the irregular edges of three seed bed areas and sowed the moss rose seeds in them.

Cut more of the lilac blooms and replaced small glass of the lily of the valley in my bedroom with them. Next I dragged out the extension cord and the string trimmer and trimmed the front ditch and then around all the trees and the front gardens.

I dragged out the hose and watered the seeds in the front garden. Since I had it out anyway, when I pulled the hose back to the rear, I dragged it out to the raised bed and watered all the seeds I'd planted back there, too.

It's too late for transplanting the veggies and herbs tonight, so I went in the house at 8:20 PM. I had a bowl of warmed-up linguine with clams and watched TV until 10:00 PM, then shut everything off and went to bed.
