I made it through the day by downing a pain pill, every six hours.
After lunch, I convinced B__ to go to Dyck's Sporting Goods so I could buy some tent stakes. I think I need them to secure my pig in the garden.
So, after getting home and changing (BTW, with no "Bang the Drum" on the radio going home, it just doesn't feel like the weekend is here - sigh) I took the pig out and introduced him to his summer home. Then I put in the stakes so that the little lip caught the metal in his feet (see photos).
I also took some photos and then some blossoms from my lilac bush. This is truly a smell from my childhood. My Mom had HUGE clumps of various lilacs (Persian purples, blues and whites) around the farm and, in the spring, with the bedroom window open, the smell was overpowering. Ever since, given the opportunity, I have planted lilacs outside my bedroom window in the various houses I have owned.
I got out the mower and did the front lawn, and then the back. I have a lot to do this weekend and it's supposed to rain Sunday, so getting this done is important! I finished up and was back in the house just after 8:00 PM.
Once inside, I cooked a box of rotini pasta until al dente. I drained it and cooled it down with cold water from the faucet. I let it sit for a bit while I filled this in... Is this for tonight's dinner? My God, NO! If you were paying attention, I still have a TON of leftovers left, well, over, LOL!
But, I thought I'd take tuna salad over to my Mom's when I go visit her tomorrow for Mother's Day. I have to go to the Volvo dealer to get my radio working again, and then plan on heading her way. If I get lucky and get there before lunch, I'll have some with her and Cora. If not, I'll leave it for their supper.
For my supper, I warmed up the last four ears of sweet corn and ate them. That was enough. Then it was TV, book and sleep, in that order.
