I didn't get home until 5:30 PM, so I missed a call from my daughter Melissa. I tried returning her call, but got her voicemail. Oh well, phone tag!
I changed clothes and went outside. I need to water the new grass seed in the back, but the problem is the large maple's tree trunks. So, I have to over-water in some areas to get all the grass seed wet. Anyway, I set up the first position for the sprinkler and turned it on.
I went and filled up my hummingbird feeder and then went to hand it outside. But, I couldn't find the "S" hook I use. So, I ended up wiring it with 12 gauge wire to the hanger. Now, long time readers may remember, I have never even SEEN a hummingbird in Redford, but I put it out every year, anyway. Hope springs eternal!
I got my compost sifter, the shovel and the wheel barrow after moving the sprinkler to the second position. I went out back and got three wheel barrow's full of clean compost. That all went into the old sandbox. I chatted with my neighbor over the fence for a bit and moved the sprinkler for the last time.
Since my back was hurting, and I still had to wait about 15 minutes more for the sprinkler, I fixed a drink and sat on the back patio until it was time to turn the water off. It was 7:50 PM when I finally came inside the house for good.
I wasn't really that hungry, so I warmed up a couple of chicken legs and ate those with a side dish of cottage cheese mixed with fresh snipped chives. I watched TV until 10:30 PM and then went to sleep.
