Responding to that last comment reminded me of something. When I was out at the cottage last Friday, and we were discussing the Blog, there seemed to be a fair amount of confusion about the Comments feature. For example, Mary asked who this Anonymous Coward was, anyway. So, let me walk you through it.
To comment, you just click on the blue Comment at the end of the post. This takes you to a screen with previous comments (if any) and a text box where you can write in whatever you wanted to say. Under that, you can either pick "Anonymous" or pick the box that lets you write in your name or your nom de plume (whatever you want to call yourself).
If you pick "Anonymous" it gets posted as "Anonymous Coward" (a little joke on the Webmaster's part). So, to answer Mary's question, "Anonymous Coward" could be anybody.
Next you have to deal with the Captcha which, if you are not familiar with that, is a box with distorted letters in it. You have to retype the letters in the box below the image. This is sometimes not easy, but it's designed to foil automated comment posting (in other words, you are proving to the website that you are a living, breathing person). If you correctly enter the letters, BINGO! Your comment is posted. If you mess it up (and I frequently do - hey, its not that easy) it asks you to try again.
So, now you know! I invite you to comment on anything you feel deserves your response, except for political things. Those just seem to go on forever, back and forth between the liberals and conservatives and nobody ever really "wins" since there is no absolute truth to politics, just biased opinions...
To be fair I stole it from undeadly.org.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your honesty, but I still find it amusing, anyway.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! Normally I read the blog post for the biased opinions. Then I read the comments for the facts. As for who wins, well, I will quietly sidestep that question.
