As far as McCain's VP pick, as I have espoused here before, politics is NEVER rally about ideals, lofty goals and such. The VP pick is another example. If Obama (Mr. Washington outsider and master of change) dies, you'd get a career Washington insider as President! Every candidate does what he thinks will help him win. They are all practical cynics, NOT idealists!
