Thursday

After the usual getting home falderal, I changed clothes and taped up the remaining pieces of the storm door puzzle. These will have to wait to get painted, because it Thursday and that means only one thing: cutting the grass.

Now to be honest, I am not sure I should cut the grass. It hasn't really rained since I cut it last and it doesn't appear to have grown that much. And (sadly) there are some spots that are turning brown. Which means, unless we get a good soaking rain here tomorrow (40% chance they say), I will have to water over the weekend.

But, cut the grass I do. I went out just after 6:00 PM and finished up at 7:45. I got a nice surprise, though. My neighbor did come and cut down the elm and the maple trees and the big maple branch that were all shading the back of my yard. Now, if I want, I can put in a big vegetable garden next year. Plus, he cut the stumps low enough I can run over them with the lawn mower!

Once the mower was put away, I spray painted those frames. I left them outside to dry and I will either give them another coat Friday night, if they need it, or install them.

I went out and picked a handful of leaf lettuce and harvested the first tomatoes. I turned them and the one store-bought cucumber I had into a big salad for dinner. I did watch some TV, but turned in early as I was beat.

  2. No, they were my trees. I marked them and the branch with blue masking tape so there wouldn't be any mixups. He wants to supplement his heat by burning wood in his house this winter, so I told him if he cut them down and made them go away, he could have all the wood. So, he did.
