I had to run an errand after work, so I didn't get home until 5:45 PM. I changed clothes and got busy.
Tonight, it's trim! After test fitting both the sink and the new window sill, I realized I made the sill too wide. I made it oversized (at least for this house) on purpose so I could maybe put a small pot of herbs on it, or big tomatoes. But it's only about an inch away from the faucet and it looks crowded.
So, I used the table saw on the straight piece and the band saw on the notches and cut it down 3/4 of an inch. I hooked up my "attack" air compressor and tacked it into place. Next I installed the 1/2 inch stained filler pieces. I cleverly attached the new curtain rod holders BEFORE I put up the sides pieces and then the top.
I put in the piece that goes under the sill and finally, really attached the sill. I stopped at that point to take some photos I had an off-line request for. I posted them and was reviewing them (you have to, as you are dealing with file names, not thumbnails, so you must check and make sure the caption matches the photo and so on) when I saw something. There were tile, up under the cabinets, which I did not get all the grout off!
So, I found my painter's knife and scraped them. I used the vacuum cleaner's attachments to get up the dust. Then I got buckets of hot water and went over all the tiles again (I was going to do that anyway, because they said to get the grout to dry extra hard, you should remoisten the grout).
I stopped and took the air compressor, hoses and guns out to the garage, so it couldn't scare me again!
I got the big floor bucket and mop and washed the floor with just water. There were a few spots under the counter in the corner that did not want to come off, but it was late and I figured I would tackle them tomorrow. So, I stopped.
It was almost 9:30, so I warmed up the leftover's Jake and Carla had sent home. Funny, but the German potato salad tasted even better today (well, I was pretty hungry!) I watched TV long enough to eat supper, then turned it off and went to sleep.
