I raced home Thursday after work, because I had a lot to do! After the usual hubbub, the first thing I did was to add an elbow to the gas pipe that sticks out of the stove. I never liked how I hooked it up when I moved here and seeing it these past few days was a reminder. So, at lunch, I went to the hardware store and got the pipe pieces I needed and I installed them after work.
It was sprinkling on the way home again, BTW. When I checked the rain gauge Friday morning, it was less than 1/8 inch of rain, again! It's like God is teasing me!!
I used spray polyurethane to coat all the window trim. I remembered to change my glasses, first. Next I cut down the scrap piece of base board molding I stained to use as filler for the window sill. I put glue on the bottom of the sill, added the filler piece and attached it with the air gun, using 3/4 inch staples.
I swept up the sawdust, got out the sawhorses and set up the tile saw. I measured my space and cut down eight tiles, plus cut out two for the rounded corners where the sink goes. I applied mortar and set the tiles. Much better than before!!!
While I was at it, I test fit the sink. Perfect!
When I was doing that, Tammy next door came over with my container I gave them (filled with my salsa, if you remember). I invited her in to see my work. She liked it. She asked if I liked potato salad and I said, "Sure."
So, she left, but came back with a small bowl of potato salad and some tortilla chips and that three layer Mexican dip stuff (refried beans, my salsa, shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream). I walked her back home and talked with Rick, her husband, who was in their garage.
He said he saw Jake and Carla on Saturday in the tile shop. I explained about the angle cut I needed, but the saw was out on a job site. He said he wished he would have known that because the saw was still right there, sitting on his garage floor!
It was getting dark when I got back home and I was getting hungry. So, I hosed off the tile saw and put it inside. I dragged the hose back in back, shut the gate and then shut the garage door.
I warmed up a hamburger patty for supper and ate it, with her potato salad. Later, I ate the Mexican dip and chips while watching TV. I went to sleep at 10:30 PM.
