Finally Friday

On Friday I went shopping for ingredients I need to make my "dish to pass" for my Mom's party. I'll do the real grocery shopping on Sunday.

It was sunny today, but still cool and they were predicting frost in outlying areas tonight.

After putting everything away and treating the cats, I took my tape measure and headed out to the play structure. I have a half-formed idea in my head about partially closing it in and storing the outdoor stuff under it.

While I was out there, I chatted with the neighbors and got caught up on all the local news. I asked about Tonya (my old lawn-cutting neighbor) as I had driven down the road and noticed all her plants and outdoor stuff was gone. They said she and her boyfriend had walked away from the house and were now living in Livonia. Unfortunately, that means her ex-husband now has to try and sell it.

And the nice brick house four doors north of me is for sale (I saw the sign, as well). It's one of those "short-sales" where the people owed $190,000 but the bank agreed that any money is better than no money, so it's listed at $140,000!

I asked him if he had a pressure washer and he said, no, but he had access to one. I said I'd like to get the play structure cleaned up so I can stain it then apply Thompson's water proofing on it. He said he'd see if the guy will do it for $50 (which is about what it would cost me to rent one).

Back inside, I warmed up some roast beef hash for dinner. I watched TV but I got bored. So I switched to reading until bedtime.
