It was just starting to rain when I took the garbage out Tuesday morning. It made walking on the driveway (still snow covered) quite a challenge.
It continued to rain all day. At lunch, I took back the bright tiles. Took quite a while because the lady at the return counter insisted I didn't have the right sales slip, because it said 6 boxes of matte tiles and these were bright. I said, well, that's what I thought I bought but I didn't. Since each box holds 50 6-inch tiles and are quite heavy, the check out girl just scanned the same box six times. Finally she understood (or maybe just got tired of me arguing) and gave me my money back. Then I went back to the tile section and got a box of matte tiles. After I bought it, I reflected on how fleeting it was to have that money...
I didn't sleep well Monday night, so I spent Tuesday afternoon stifling yawns. When I got home, I thought about doing more tile work (in fact, I was thinking about it all day) and then decided I was too beat to do a good job. So, I gave myself the night off. I putzed around and read a bit until dinner time.
I needed to use up the other half pound of hamburger so I duplicated Monday night's dinner, but with a few twists. Before I sauteed the onions, I sliced three medium sized Yukon Gold potatoes (skin on) and fried them in olive oil and butter until they really were golden. Then I did the onions and removed them from the pan. I added a little more oil and four cloves of garlic, peeled and smashed. I heated the garlic until it started to turn brown, then I discarded it. So, this time I fried my hamburger steak in garlic-infused olive oil.
I watched TV while I ate dinner but when I was done and had everything cleaned up, I decided that even watching TV was a waste; so I turned off the lights and turned in, just after 9:00 PM. It was still raining, but it was supposed to turn to snow and freeze overnight.
Speaking of snow, I couldn't get any reports on snow amounts in Port Huron, but I did see where Melissa and Dave's old stomping grounds was forecast to get 10 inches today!
