Happy 1234567890 Day!

The things I learn, working in IT...

In Unix, time is counted in seconds since the epoch (January 1, 1970). This evening at 6:31:30 PM, the time will be equal to 1234567890

Have fun celebrating! I know I have my party hat and noisemaker ready!!

  1. Indeed. I celebrated with my Unix servers. I also extended a holiday greeting to those upstart Linux boxes. Around 6:30 PM, I dimmed the data center lights. The world quietly turned to 1234567890 amid the beautiful twinkling indicator lights and peaceful humming cooling fans. Man, I love information technology.

  3. There are two types of people in this world. Those who spend every waking moment obsessing about their craft and honing their skills. And then, there are those who have a life.
