I almost gave in and bought the pay-per-view of the fight last night between Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton. Who would win? I was torn, because I am a big fan of both fighters and of Freddy Roach, Pacquiao's trainer.
Hatton (an Englishman) is the perfect brawler and Pacquiao (a Filipino) is just an amazingly quick puncher. I decided that Pacquiao would win it on points after a long, brutal fight. But, times being what they are, I didn't spend the money.
Imagine my surprise when I checked this morning and found that Pacquiao knocked Hatton out in the second round!
I had to chuckle, because it reminded me of my daughter Amy, who was a big Mike Tyson fan, back in the day. So, she would buy the pay-per-view and then Tyson would knock the guy out in the first 30 seconds...
Geez, like I wanted to be reminded! I also didn't pay for the Hatton fight and watched it on Sportscenter highlights and was glad I didn't spend the money. I still have the Tyson fight with Holyfeld on VHS titled "Bite Fight"
ReplyDeleteThinking of flying out to see Grandma at the cottage with little Carl who is taller than I am!!! She said she was going on the 15th of June and I'd like to give her time to get settled, but not too much time.
Who is her aid now? When I called Grandma couldnt hear real well and whoever answered (It didnt sound like Cora) translated for Grandma I appreciated it since I hate repeating myself over and over.
If and when we fly out we (my son and I) are planning on staying at the cottage with Grandma, will her aid be with her? What do you think???
LOL, I didn't mean to remind you. It's just that I remind myself of that incident whenever I very much want to watch a fight on pay-per-view!
ReplyDeleteCora's husband (who still lives back in the Philippines)had a stroke so she went back home for a month. So, you were probably talking to Marla (who is a lovely young woman, also a Filipino and Cora's fill-in).
Yes, her aids are there 24/7. Cora sleeps in the bedroom next to Grandma. But there's always the back bedroom and the two couches for sleeping.
