My Wasted Tuesday

Tuesday was cloudy and cool when I took out the garbage and it stayed that way all day.

I messed up, big time! When I was at the doctor's last Thursday, I got a new prescription for my Celebrex. Instead of dropping it off that night, I knew I had enough to last until Monday. So, I dropped it off Monday at lunch and told them I'd pick it up after work.

However, I forgot that, instead of refilling an existing prescription, I was, in fact, getting a new one. And, because Celebrex is not generic, my insurance company demands a doctor's "Prior Approval." So, thanks to a lot of stupid red tape, (and even more stupid planning on my part), I missed my Monday dose as well as Tuesday's.

Needless to say (at least to anyone who takes Celebrex) I was in a lot of pain by the time I got home on Tuesday: both knees, my shoulder and especially my back. So, instead of sifting more compost, or planting the rest of the front garden, I was stuck on the couch.

I returned a few voicemails and read my book until dinner time.

For dinner, I cut up some redskin potatoes, boiled and then mashed them. I cut off some thin slices of the smoked turkey breast and heated them, along with a jar of turkey gravy, in the microwave. I find that physical discomfort calls for comfort food!

I went in to watch some TV, but had great difficulty falling asleep. It was a rough night!
