I slept late on Sunday, waking up around 8:30 AM. I had two cups of warmed up coffee for breakfast.
As you probably know, it's my custom to pitch (or eat) the hard boiled eggs when I buy new ones. Whatever is left from the old eggs then becomes hard boiled. And the new eggs, with the date written down, are put in the fridge.
So, today, I took the six hard boiled eggs left over and chopped them up. I added some fine diced Vidalia onion, good mayonnaise, and a splash of yellow mustard and salt and pepper. I toasted the "oatnut' bread, added the last of the lettuce and made myself an egg salad sandwich for lunch.
I went outside to move some mulch. By trying to do this right, I have added another component into this procedure. I am now putting down landscape fabric before applying the mulch. This is supposed to allow rainwater to penetrate, but not allow weeds to grow.
So, I have a roll of the stuff (from Home Depot) and am fitting it around my "good" plants with a pair of scissors before trucking in the mulch.
Note to self: Pain in the butt!
Once back inside, I put the T-Bone steak I'd thawed in a simple marinade: Fresh chopped garlic, fresh oregano, salt, pepper and peanut oil. I put the steak and marinade together in a baggie and then back in the fridge. Then I cut the small, seedless watermelon I'd bought into two-inch chunks for snacking.
It was getting late, so I decided to save the steak for Monday's dinner and just stick with the watermelon for Sunday's supper. I watched the last four hours of "Lonesome Dove" and then went to bed.
