I woke up at 7:00 AM. I had awakened earlier at 2:00 AM and stayed awake for a couple of hours, which reminded me why going to bed early (for me) is a big mistake.
My arm hurts like a son-of-a-b*tch, BTW, and I am seriously tempted to take a pain pill. I still have about a half a bottle left from my last knee replacement. But, I hate that "stupid" feeling, so I passed. If I want to get stupid, I'll just drink too much bourbon.
It's not supposed to be a warm day, so I shut off the AC and opened a few windows. The fresh air feels nice.
Food seems to still be just an option, so I just reheated a cup of yesterday's coffee. I got cleaned up and then stripped the bed. I threw the bedding into the washer and sat down on the love seat to listen to Sunday Morning, Over Easy.
Naturally, I dozed off. I was awakened by Jake and Carla and their dog, stopping by after a weekend up at the St. Clair boat races. They were dropping off a couple of pounds of hunter sausage from the Smoke House (a half mile from where we all used to live in Columbus and the BEST!!!)
I was not surprised that the cats disappeared. But, I was a little surprised that Scruffy didn't eventually emerge. He always did when Tracey brought her dog. Maybe a 60 pound pit bull gave him pause.
We visited a bit (while I chowed down two or three hunter sausages) and then went out back. I showed them how far I got on the mulch project and their dog relieved herself in my yard. Then they left and I got about my work, revitalized.
I went out back. I gathered up the pine and maple limbs I'd cut yesterday and threw them over the fence into the vacant lot south of me (hey, if they are going to cut down all the trees, they can take care of a few extra branches, right?)
Back inside, my daughter Melissa called. We talked for way too long. So my plans for Sunday's supper changed. I decided I'd just stick to hunter sausage. I never watched my Sunday night shows (they are being taped, anyway) and I just went to bed.
