Friday dawned sunny and warm. I am tired of sandwiches and soup, so I treated myself at lunch. I went to Chin's and had chicken subgum, with rice and an egg roll. Delicious!
I got home after work and went through the various rituals. It was about 6:00 PM when I got outside. First I stuck the hose in the reflecting pool and turned it on low. Then I took the rake, the garden fork and the wheelbarrow out to the back garden.
I started at the south end spreading the piles of mulch. It was as I feared; they had buried several of my hostas. I found two (with their leaves damaged, but I think they will grow back), but I am sure there are two more still missing.
I stopped at 6:30 and hooked the hose to the oscillating sprinkler and set it in place to water the grass seed. I went back and worked for another 1/2 hour. I got about 1/4 of the garden done. I quit at 7:00 PM (I can't afford to cripple myself up this weekend) and turned off the sprinkler.
Back inside, I took and made some calls. Then I made a sandwich for dinner. I spread my oat nut bread with Dijon mustard, put on two rounds of provolone cheese and then two thick slices of tomato. I seasoned the tomato with salt and pepper, put on the top and cut it in half.
I went in to watch the Friday Night Fights. The sandwich was excellent, with a nice, fresh taste. I didn't stay awake for the main bout, but it's being taped. I woke up at 12:30 AM, turned off the light and TV and immediately fell back asleep. I guess exercise and the fresh air coming through the bedroom window promote sleeping!
