Well, I got smarter last night and slept in the recliner. That allowed me to get, say, an hour's worth of sleep before I would wake up. It was another long night, but not as bad.
Wednesday was the day I could take off the acres of bandages and replace them with the five waterproof Band-Aid ones. Then, I shaved and showered and finally changed out of that damn hospital gown.
The only problems now were pain and nausea. Lu called to see how I was doing around 11:30 AM.
Jake called and said Carla had made me some meatballs and spaghetti sauce and he was bringing it over for lunch. I asked him to stop and get me some soda crackers. So, he made some penne pasta and warmed up the sauce. We topped it with grated Parmigiano-Reggiano and ate lunch. It was very good (thanks, Carla!)
He went back to work and I went and took another short nap. Then I watched some more TV.
My son Jeremy called at 4:30 PM to check on me and we talked for a while. My Brother Jim called at 5:30 PM to let me know what was going on out at the Lake and to ask how I was doing. He said my sister-in-law, Coletta, took the same kind of pain medicine and was sick on it, too.
When we hung up, I took another nap until 7:00 PM. My Brother Joe called to talk about 1/2 hour later.
I had some more spaghetti and meatballs for dinner (still just a little, wary of my stomach). Finally my friend B___ called a little after 9:00 PM.
I was very popular on Wednesday!
I'm glad you liked it Dad! Feel better!
