Sunday

Sunday was a mix of getting stuff done and taking it easy. I decided NOT to spend my last day with two hands just on working my butt off. I checked the rain gauge and found two inches of rain had fallen on Saturday!

I was amazed at how hot and humid it was when I went outside. I drove to Westborn and got some fresh corn and dill to complete my grilling ideas. I made a marinade of half fresh lemon juice and half canola oil and then whisked in some fresh dill and dried thyme. I put three chicken breasts and four thighs in a baggie and dumped in the marinade. I let that get happy while I fired up the coals.

I first grilled the chicken on the hot area of the grille, and then I moved it over to the cool to continue cooking. I put the sweet corn on and watched it closely. When that was done, I took the chicken and corn off and grilled some burgers and a round steak.

I walked over two chicken breasts and a thigh and three ears of corn to an older widow woman in the townhouses across the road (she's the nice lady whose dead husband was also named "John").

I was also going to do a package of hot dogs, but it started sprinkling, so I said enough was enough.

I shut the garage door and left the grille to its fate. I ate three ears of corn and a chicken breast for dinner and went in to watch my Sunday night shows.
