Even Slower Monday

I woke up after 8:00 AM on Monday. It didn't surprise me as I went to bed (again) so late. I reheated the coffee and had a cup writing out the Blog.

It had stopped raining, but when I checked, I got about 1/4 inch showing in the rain gauge from overnight. So, I skipped the watering this morning.

I did a little of this and that, but really nothing much all day. I got a check-up call from a friend and a voicemail from my brother Jim (I was taking a nap at the time).

I started thinking about dinner (not having any breakfast or lunch) around 5:00 PM, but didn't have a clue what to make (I'm sick of leftovers). I finally ended up making tuna and peas on top of egg noodles.

I watched two movies back to back and went to bed at 11:30 PM.

  1. Wow, man, you live the life. I hope you are resting up for something. Like, say, a visit with the family on the lake. Which reminds me, will we be seeing you this coming Sunday in New Baltimore?

  2. Well, no... I am resting up to try and make it through the first eight hours of being back at work without falling asleep. Thankfully, (and hopefully) you will never know what these types of operations take out of you...

No, unless I have to for some important family reason, I have no wish to ever go to Lake Orion again. I know you would think of it as Grandma Goerlich's cottage, but I am old and still think of it as Mama 'Rene's cottage. As such, without her or my Mom present, it holds no joy to me...

Yes, I will be at the family reunion (or whatever it is). It looks like the weather will be crappy, so I plan on taking some soup.

  3. Great. Look forward to seeing you.

(Btw, I meant Lake St. Clair. That is to say, where the get-together in New Baltimore will be held.)
