Under the Full Moon

I stayed up late last night so I didn't wake up until 8:00 AM on Wednesday. I posted the Blog and then got a cup of coffee.

I am guessing from the amount of weird vehicles going up and down the road that they are finally starting to pave it. I made some necessary phone calls and got a bunch of things straightened out. I changed the furnace filters and noted that fact on the calendar. Next I siphoned out the remaining water in the old tank for Newt and got another cup of coffee.

I took a nap about 11:00 AM and was awakened by a phone call from my friend B___. It was about 1:00 PM and he said he was nearby and wanted to stop in. I said great!

He showed up about a half hour later. He changed clothes (did I mention it was a perfect day?) and then asked me to get him my line trimmer. I offered him a coffee, a drink or a beer but he declined.

He started trimming the front lawn while I sat on my butt in the porch rocker. Unfortunately, the line trimmer broke (and I mean totally broke) during that process (hey, it's over five years old) and his efforts to fix it didn't work. Undeterred, he got out the push mower and finished the front yard, then moved to the back.

When he finished, he asked me if there was anything else I needed. I mentioned the aquarium gravel in the old tank, so he carried that outside and dumped it where I wanted it (you lucked out, Jake!) Then he climbed back in his vehicle and left for home.

I putzed around after he left and, later on, made myself some dinner. I watched the news, then Jeopardy and then checked out the TV offerings tonight. Pretty lame. So, I ended up watching the BBC channel for two hours (Gordon Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares" and his "The F word.")

I noticed there was a full moon out tonight, so I went out on the porch to enjoy it. There was also a really bright object next to it I thought was a star, but later learned it was the planet Jupiter. Then at 10:00 PM I watched the latest "Top Chef" on Bravo.

I watched the news again and then went to bed.
