Movie Day

I was wide awake at 4:00 AM on Saturday (I guess I went to bed a bit too early Friday night). After being totally unable to get back to sleep, I read a magazine until the local news came on at 5:00 AM.

I watched that (hoping to fall back asleep) until about 7:00 AM. At that point, I gave up, went out and ground up some coffee beans and put an eight-cup pot on.

While that was processing, I made some soft-boiled eggs, I ate breakfast (Yumo!) with a fresh cup of coffee. I poured another while I started the second batch of laundry.

It was still misty and drizzling, but I went outside in my bathrobe to check on the rain gauge: I had just over one inch of rain so far since this crap began on Thursday morning!

Back inside, I skipped the shave and took a nice hot shower. I got dressed in my weekend work clothes. I began my weekend chores by using the electric sweeper on all the floors.

I took a break (hey, the sky and weather was inspiring me to climb back in bed and go back to sleep!) and watched some taped cooking shows.

I sort of used that method to clean my house. I'd do some cleaning, and then watch a movie. I watched "The Perfect Storm" with George Clooney in the afternoon and the "Hound of the Baskervilles" with Peter Cushing at night.

I kept the movie day theme going by not making the dinner I'd planned. Instead I just made a bowl of popcorn!
