Highs and Lows on Tuesday

I woke up with the alarm at 6:30 AM on Tuesday. I threw on some clothes and took the garbage out. Back inside, and a little chilled, I put on a pot of coffee. I shaved and showered and then drank coffee watching the morning news.

I left for therapy at 8:45 AM. This was supposed to be my last day there for my shoulder, and it is. But, now I have to have an evaluation and therapy on my leg!!! So, I'll be back there next week...

From there I drove over to St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia. I went through the usual outpatient rigamarole and finally got several x-rays of my pelvis, right hip and right leg. Back home, I changed from my therapy clothes to my dress shirt and pants and then went into work at about 10:30 AM. I have to put in four hours today and eight tomorrow, since I no longer get Holiday pay. So, I left work at 2:30 PM.

I got in the mail and found a cooking magazine. So, since I didn't sleep all that well last night, I decided to read it on the bed, hoping for a nap. I changed my clothes and started reading.

I gave up at 4:30 PM. I had several big yawns, but never fell asleep. So, I got out the vacuum and cleaned up Caley's hair from the living room rug. Then I pulled down the attic stairs and carried the last two garden hoses up there (there's not room in the garage for them this year).

Since I was up there anyway, I got down the four-foot Christmas tree. I set it in the living room on the newly cleaned carpet, awaiting its decorations.

I made dinner, then. I mixed up the remaining four cups of mashed potatoes with an egg and some flour, heated up some oil in my medium-sized skillet and fried up Fran's potato cakes. While they were draining, I thinly sliced some of the roast beef, topped them with the last of the gravy and warmed them in the microwave.

I was going to eat this watching TV, but there was nothing interesting on. So, I popped in a DVD: "The Long Kiss Goodnight," a movie starring Geena Davis that Jer and Jyl gave me several years ago.

When the movie was over, I turned off the TV and went back to my magazine until bedtime.
